The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ferguson closes the distance and clinches.
A frustrated look appears on Ferguson's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Schmoe Jr feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ferguson's calf.
Schmoe Jr gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ferguson.
Schmoe Jr lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.

It looks like Dennis Ferguson has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ferguson tries to score with a low kick but Schmoe Jr moves his leg out of the way.
Ferguson jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Schmoe Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Ferguson takes the fight into the clinch.

A frustrated look appears on Ferguson's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Schmoe Jr jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ferguson walks away with a smile on his face. Schmoe Jr gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ferguson, as that shot connected.
Schmoe Jr scores with a crisp jab that stopped Ferguson in his tracks.
Schmoe Jr checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ferguson cracks Schmoe Jr with a right hand to the side of the head.
Joe Schmoe Jr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Schmoe Jr misses with the body kick
and Ferguson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ferguson throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Ferguson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Schmoe Jr was well out of range. Poor timing from Ferguson.
Schmoe Jr throws a nice outside leg kick.
Ferguson takes a swing at Schmoe Jr's ribcage but misses.

A looping hook to the body misses from Ferguson. Schmoe Jr does a little dance to reset his feet.

Ferguson takes one on the chin but seems OK.

Schmoe Jr ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Schmoe Jr no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Ferguson won't allow Schmoe Jr to get back to his feet.

Schmoe Jr is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Ferguson has his hands clasped together but Schmoe Jr extends an breaks Ferguson's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Schmoe Jr.
