Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Darrell Miles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Pert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miles's entrance music is Tupac - Only God Can Judge Me. A fine choice. Pert is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Tom Sawyer-Rush. Darrell Miles has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The judges for this bout are Alyssa Summers, Jorge Garcia and Jonathan Paton.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pert uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Miles.
Miles tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pert manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pert scores with a one two! Miles had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Miles looks to land a combination but Pert avoids it well.
Pert throws a right and a left that Miles avoids nicely.
Pert feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Miless jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Miles fails with an attempt to clinch.
Miles fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Pert manages to avoid it.
Pert has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Miles shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Pert napping and manages to drive through into side control!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Miles in side control, throwing shots but Pert defends.
Miles is putting a hurting on Pert here, landing some big shots from side control.
Pert wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Pert manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Miles lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Miles has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Pert is trying to get back to full guard.

Miles moves nicely into side control.
Pert takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Pert is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Miles off and has taken his back!
Pert is trying to stick to Miles's back but Miles is turning into Pert. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Pert's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Miles.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Pert is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Miles dives into side control.
Pert is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Miles asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Miles lands a strong strike to the head of Pert. That's dazed him! Miles looking to finish here. Pert is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Miles lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Darrell Miles!
After winning the bout, Darrell Miles thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
