Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lelouch Laperouge!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Taz Lero!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Hugh Johnson and Skip Squint.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lero swinging wildly here.
Laperouge looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Lero waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Laperouge.
Lero swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lero feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lero working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lero thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lero pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Laperouge is keeping the position for now.
Lero advances to half guard.
Lero has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Lero is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Lero in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Laperouge tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Lero!
