The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Steve Montenegro and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mir shoots in for a takedown but Schwarzeneggar shows good takedown defense.
Schwarzeneggar scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Mir is looking to improve his position.
Mir wants to control but Schwarzeneggar is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Mir is trying to control but Schwarzeneggar manages to pass to mount!
Schwarzeneggar throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Mir tries to hold on but Schwarzeneggar pushes him away.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Schwarzeneggar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mir gives up his back whilst trying to strike.
Well, with Schwarzeneggar on his back, surely it's only a matter of time before Mir is tapping out... Can he escape the position?

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Schwarzeneggar has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Mir's body.
Mir is trying to stand back up.
Schwarzeneggar controlling well, preventing Mir from escaping the position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Schwarzeneggar has the hooks in. Mir is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mir doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Schwarzeneggar counters with a nice double leg into side control. Mir won't be happy with that.

Schwarzeneggar takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Mir is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Mir looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Schwarzeneggar is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Mir with him. Mir is trying to defend but Schwarzeneggar has an arm under the chin now! Mir grimaces and is forced to tap out!
