Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Michael Jones!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Kenichi Hosakawa and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jones fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Jones connects with a nice short shot to Gomi's temple.
Jones content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Michael Jones showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Gomi fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Jones avoids it really well and circles away.

Gomi wants to get back to his feet but Jones is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Gomi is retaining full guard.
Jones keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gomi's head.
Gomi knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Gomi wants to stand but Jones is controlling the position.
Jones cracks Gomi with a solid left hand.
Jones postures up and lands a big shot to Gomi's brow.
Jones wants to control from the top but Gomi keeps moving.

Jones looks up at the clock and then as Gomi takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Jones smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Well Jones has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
