Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Marnic Pretorius (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James King (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marnic Pretorius!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James King!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pretorius is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Pretorius circles away and we're back to standing.
Pretorius misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
King tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Pretorius fails with the takedown.
King darts in trying to clinch

and Pretorius holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Pretorius struggles to land a body shot inside as King controls his hands.

Pretorius's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
King fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Marnic Pretorius has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James King.

Pretorius closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

King tries to clinch but Pretorius moves out of range.

Pretorius is looking for a takedown up against the cage. King gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Pretorius seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
King tries to pull guard but Pretorius won't allow it.

Pretorius really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Pretorius will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
King wants to control from the top but Pretorius keeps moving.

We're going to have a standup here because Marnic Pretorius wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
No luck for King with that takedown attempt.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

King tries to keep at a distance but Pretorius has taken the fight into the clinch.

Pretorius escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pretorius lands a leg kick that knocks King off balance momentarily.
King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pretorius manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Pretorius lands a head kick. King smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

King closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Pretorius breaks the clinch.
A lazy left from King finds it's target.
Pretorius connects with a high kick.
King shoots in but Pretorius avoids the takedown attempt easily.
King looks gassed!
Pretorius throws a quick head kick that skims the top of King's head.

Pretorius shoots in for a double leg but King sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Pretorius moves into the clinch successfully.
King tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Pretorius smiles and moves away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Pretorius just leaning against King, taking a breather.
King has Pretorius pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Pretorius manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

King shoots in for a takedown but Pretorius shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Pretorius's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Pretorius manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. King manages to get himself to full guard.

Pretorius has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. King is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Pretorius successfully pulls guard.
Pretorius is adopting a defensive guard.
King really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pretorius. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Pretorius has his foot on King's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. King works his way back into a safe position though.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Pretorius fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but King avoids it really well and circles away.
King tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Pretorius manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

King looking to sit in guard and control but Pretorius gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
King takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Pretorius content to stall in guard here.

Pretorius with a flurry of punches that miss.

King working for submissions but it's allowed Pretorius to get to half guard.

Pretorius is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, King has managed to free his arm - good work.
Pretorius uses his free foot to push down on King's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for King.

Pretorius seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down King for as long as he can get away with.

Well Pretorius has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
