Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joshua Clottey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clottey comes to the cage accompanied by I'm So Hood. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joshua Clottey!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Russell Pearce and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson wants to clinch.
Some wild striking there from Wilson.
Wilson tries to clinch but Clottey moves out of range.

Clottey darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wilson missing with punches from the bottom.
Wilson on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Clottey tries to stand but can't do so whilst Wilson controls his leg.
Wilson is trying to get back to full guard.
Clottey lands with a punch from half guard.

Wilson is looking to control Clottey's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Wilson avoid being mounted?
Wilson is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Clottey is staying active.
Clottey blocks the strikes from Wilson.
Wilson tries to roll over but Clottey keeps him under control.
Wilson wants to get back to his feet.

Clottey stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Wilson to get to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Clottey will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Wilson clinches with his opponent.

Clottey breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wilson throws a series of punches but Clottey moves out of range.
Wilson misses with a few strikes there.
Clottey dodges the punch combination from Wilson.

Clottey shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Wilson looks gassed!

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Wilson is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Clottey lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Wilson hang on?
Clottey has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Clottey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wilson is pushing Clottey's head away, looking to escape. Clottey manages to hold on to the position though.

Wilson seems to have recovered his senses.
Clottey advances nicely into full mount.
Clottey prevents Wilson from getting the reversal.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Wilson is looking to get to half guard.
Clottey with shots to the head and body - Wilson looks very uncomfortable down there.

Wilson defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Clottey.

Joshua Clottey overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Clottey lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Clottey will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Wilson squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Wilson has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Wilson is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.

Clottey has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Wilson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Wilson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Clottey's guard. Nice work there by Wilson.

Clottey wants to sweep but no luck.
Wilson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Clottey works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Clottey can't keep his opponent in guard - Wilson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Wilson wants to stand up but Clottey has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Wilson throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wilson not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Wilson prevents Clottey from improving his position.
Wilson working over Clottey with some ground and pound. Clottey looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wilson is keen to just control but Clottey is a slippery customer.
Clottey is trying to control but can't.
Clottey tries to get to full guard but Wilson has control of the leg.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Clottey changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wilson tries to avoid it but Clottey manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wilson to the ground. Wilson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Clottey makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.

Clottey looks for a takedown but Wilson sprawls well.
Wilson tries to close the distance and clinch up but Clottey swats him away and circles back towards the center.

and Clottey counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Clottey.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Clottey fails with a takedown attempt.
Clottey shoots in looking for a takedown. Wilson tries to sprawl out of it but Clottey keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wilson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Wilson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
A head kick from Clottey lands but Wilson takes it in his stride.
Wilson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Wilson moves into range and clinches up with Clottey.

Wilson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Wilson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Clottey but Clottey pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Clottey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Wilson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Clottey tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Clottey has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Wilson sneaks out the side door and pushes Clottey away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Joshua Clottey is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Wilson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Clottey tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wilson swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Clottey drops back looking for a leg! Wilson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wilson manages to kick Clottey off! Clottey jumps back into Wilson's guard.
Wilson lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Clottey!
John Wilson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Joshua Clottey.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Clottey, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
