Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Wagner Zegers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spang fails with a takedown attempt.
Spang shoots in for a takedown but Mantovo shows good takedown defense.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Spang enables Mantovo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Spang manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Mantovo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Spang can't keep his opponent in guard - Mantovo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spang is defending against the submission attempts here by Mantovo.
Spang moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Mantovo throwing strikes but missing.

Spang tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Mantovo wants to pass the guard but Spang is keeping the position.

Mantovo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mantovo passes Spang's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Mantovo is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Mantovo lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Spang trying to hold on to Mantovo's head to control him but Mantovo postures up.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Mantovo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Spang keeps working.
Mantovo is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Spang is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mantovo lands a nice short elbow.
Mantovo is nestled in close to Spang, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Mantovo perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Mantovo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Spang has hold of Mantovo's hands but Mantovo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Mantovo scores with a big shot! Spang's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Spang! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
