Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Bowers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Lucas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Nick Bowers has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Paulsen Ambrosius and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowers blocks a head kick by Lucas.

Lucas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bowers paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bowers misses with a few strikes there.
Lucas shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Bowers might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Bowers tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Lucas tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Bowers knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lucas on the ground.

Lucas is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Bowers knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Bowers for a finish.

Bowers goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Bowers enables Lucas to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Bowers manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Bowers circles away from the clinch attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lucas looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Bowers misses with a double jab.
Bowers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Lucas throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bowers's waist but Bowers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lucas off to one side.
Bowers throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Lucas wants to clinch but Bowers slips to the side
and Bowers cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
A combination from Bowers does no damage.

Lucas tries to clinch up.
Lucas scores with a takedown into Bowers's guard.
Lucas slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Lucas sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Bowers's guard.
Bowers is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Bowers is looking for a sweep. Lucas is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Lucas is taking a breather. Bowers says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Lucas moves into full mount! Bowers won't be happy about that!
Bowers takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Lucas is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bowers is surviving well by controlling Lucas's body position as best he can.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bowers is trying desperately to improve position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bowers is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Wayne Lucas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Lucas doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Bowers dips to his left and cracks Lucas with an uppercut!
Lucas changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bowers tries to avoid it but Lucas manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bowers to the ground. Bowers escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Lucas takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Bowers is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Lucas.
Bowers throws a wild body kick that Lucas sees coming a mile off.

Bowers fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Lucas wants to clinch up but Bowers keeps it at a distance.
Lucas throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Bowers tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lucas is in Bowers's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lucas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bowers has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lucas has managed to get both his arms back between Bowers's legs - danger averted.

Lucas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Bowers sprawls well. Bowers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lucas gets slowly back to his feet.
Nick Bowers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wayne Lucas.

I would just about give that final round to Wayne Lucas.

Wayne Lucas decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
