Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bada Bing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Steve Holt!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holt tries to clinch up but Bing circles away and keeps his distance.
Bing throws a hook but Holt avoids it easily.
Holt fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Holt throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Bing misses the shot to the body.
Holt with a body punch. A glancing blow.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Holt.
Holt with a jab.
Bing lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.


It looks like Steve Holt has been cut.
Holt lands with a thumping leg kick.
Holt swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Bing shoots in for a takedown but Holt shows good takedown defense.
Bing gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Holt counters with a big head kick but Bing shrugs it off.

Holt looks to score with a jab to the body but Bing is just out of range.
Both fighters circling a little - Holt finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Bing missing with a left hand there. Holt was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bing has his takedown stuffed

and Holt counters with a nice double leg into guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bada Bing. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bing is breathing heavily.
Holt looking to sit in guard and control but Bing gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Holt lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bing!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holt lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bing is in a horrible position here. Holt smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Holt is landing with some decent strikes but Bing is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
A nice elbow there by Holt.


Bing is rocked!

Holt with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Bing wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Holt.
Bing holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Holt tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Bing on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Bing tries to get out of the position.

Holt wants to finish this one by submission but Bing is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Holt.

Holt lands a nice shot to the head.
Bing is in a horrible position here. Holt smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bing wants to hold on but Holt pushes him away.
Holt lands a nice shot to the head.
Bing is trying to escape the mount.

Holt swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bing is now in Holt's guard. A big mistake from Holt there, giving up the dominant position!
Bing wants to control from the top but Holt keeps moving.
Holt looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Holt bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bing's guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Holt won't allow Bing to sweep him here.
Holt wants to control from the top but Bing keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Holt lands an overhand right.
Bing throws a body punch but Holt moves out of range.
Bing misses with an uppercut.
Holt fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bing ducks right into an uppercut from Holt.
Bing drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Holt takes a swing at Bing's ribcage but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

so Bing counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Holt has control of Bing's left arm, preventing Bing from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

and Holt counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Holt connects with the punch.
Holt is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Bing rather than just go for the knockout.
Bing doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Holt decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bing's guard.

Holt lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Holt controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Holt is working Bing over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Steve Holt showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Bing throws a combination that misses
and Holt counters with an outside leg kick.
Bing throws a hook but Holt avoids it easily.

Holt shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bing's guard.
Holt wants to control from the top but Bing keeps moving.

Holt has Bing pulled in close to control his posture.

Bing is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Bing stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Holt swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Holt looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Bing drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bing jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Holt pulls Bing in to control the position.
Holt controls Bing momentarily but Bing frees himself.
Holt looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bing is one step ahead there.
Holt striking off his back but it's not causing Bing any problems.
Bing tries to free his leg and advance position but Holt is retaining full guard.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.

so Holt counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bing preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Holt throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Bing not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Holt tries to free his leg and advance position but Bing is retaining full guard.
Bing thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Holt trying to control the position from guard on top but Bing is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Bing has his foot on Holt's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Holt works his way back into a safe position though.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bing is on top in guard.
Holt lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bing!
Bada Bing has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Holt prevents Bing from getting the reversal.
Bing is working hard here to advance position.
Holt thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Bing is squirming around, avoiding Holt's attempts to control the action.
Bing regains half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Steve Holt comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Holt has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
