Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Antonio Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Palhares comes to the cage accompanied by Metallica - Enter Sandman. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, James Pain! The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.

so Pain counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Pain with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Palhares is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Pain pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Palhares is keeping the position for now. Pain content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Pain looking to pass the guard. Pain makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Pain works a leg free and moves into half guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Pain controlling the action here.

Pain is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Pain in particular looking to stall.
Palhares actively working from the bottom here. Pain frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Palhares is trying desperately to improve position. Pain controlling from mount. Pain cracks Palhares with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Pain controlling from the full mount. Palhares wants to control but Pain is having none of it. Pain sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Palhares is looking to improve his position but Pain isn't that keen on the idea. Pain landing strikes, looking to finish! Pain scores with a couple of good head shots there.

Palhares is rocked! Palhares is in all sorts of trouble here.
Pain pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Oh Palhares is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Palhares wants to hold on but Pain pushes him away. Pain working away from the top, dropping strikes. Pain dominating with strikes here. Pain controlling the position easily from mount. Palhares is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Pain cracks Palhares with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Pain loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Palhares scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Pain land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Pain stands and salutes the crowd.
