Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Munoz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rodrigo Santos! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Munoz! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Santos looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Santos misses with a takedown and Munoz counters with a lovely shot to the body. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Santos, as that shot connected.
Santos dives in and grabs Munoz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Munoz pushes down on Santos's head and hops out. Rodrigo Santos seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Santos shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Munoz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Santos pushes down on Munoz's leg and manages to get into half guard. Santos is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Munoz is staying active underneath Santos, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Munoz blocking the ground and pound attempt from Santos. Munoz avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Santos. Santos throwing shots but Munoz is blocking nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Munoz wants to improve his position but Santos is controlling well.
Munoz regains full guard. Nicely done. Munoz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Munoz keeping moving, preventing Santos from controlling successfully. Santos controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Rodrigo Santos has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Munoz cracks Santos with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Munoz thows a body shot but no joy. Santos changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Munoz tries to avoid it but Santos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Munoz to the ground. Munoz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrigo Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Santos darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Santos is working for a kimura but Munoz is defending it quite comfortably.
Santos stands up out of the half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Santos throws out a leg kick but Munoz moves out of range and Santos only half commits. Santos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Munoz throws the left hand but Santos avoids the punch easily. Munoz takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Munoz moves out of range of the leg kick from Santos. Santos steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Munoz. Munoz jabs Santos to the body, keeping him at a distance. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Munoz, as that shot connected.
Munoz's corner calls for a 1-2. Munoz obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range. Munoz cracks a nice hook into Santos's ribs. Santos shoots in for a takedown but Munoz shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. The fighters circling - Munoz throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Santos misses with a wild combination.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Munoz throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Nice takedown defense from Munoz. No joy for Santos on that attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fight stays on the outside here - Munoz looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Munoz slips under a jab from Santos. Santos takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor. Munoz displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Santos. Mark Munoz is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Santos tries to keep at a distance but Munoz has taken the fight into the clinch. Santos is looking to take this one to the mat. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Munoz creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Santos drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Santos is breathing heavily. Munoz scores with a shoulder strike. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A shot in the inside from Munoz. A shot in the inside from Munoz. Munoz makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut. Munoz throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Munoz gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Santos.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mark Munoz will probably get the nod. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Santos ducks under a wild hook from Munoz. Sloppy strikes from Munoz. Those never looked like landing. Mark Munoz seems to be getting the better of the standup. Santos closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Munoz to the mat! Munoz manages to get full guard. Munoz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Santos. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Santos looking to pass the guard. Munoz is pulling down on Santos's head to control his posture. Santos postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Santos drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Munoz dives on top into guard. Munoz stops Santos from standing up. Munoz throwing strikes but missing. Rodrigo Santos overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's one minute gone in the round. Munoz with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Munoz trying to move into half guard but instead Santos has managed to sweep! Santos throwing strikes but missing. Munoz manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Santos manages to get himself to full guard.
Santos wants to sweep here but Munoz controlling him for the moment. Santos is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Munoz stopping the sweep attempt from Santos.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Santos keeping moving, preventing Munoz from controlling successfully. Santos is trying to control the position but Munoz postures up. Munoz loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Munoz trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Santos is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage. Santos looking to hit a scissor sweep but Munoz is one step ahead there. Munoz stands and throws Santos's legs to the side, diving into side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santos takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Santos is not content to let Munoz control the position. Santos is trying to control Munoz's posture but Munoz avoids it. Munoz taking a break here but Santos is having none of it and regains half guard. Santos manages to get to full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Munoz throws a big elbow that misses. Munoz stands and steps away. Santos gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game. Rodrigo Santos is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Munoz looks to score with a jab to the body but Santos is just out of range. Santos misses with a takedown attempt and Munoz connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Santos looks for a takedown but Munoz sprawls well. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Santos with a hook. Santos misses with a hook. Munoz ducked under it nicely. Munoz stuffs the takedown attempt from Santos. Santos gets slowly back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Munoz darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Munoz blocks the body kick.
Munoz bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Santos scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard. Munoz throws a body punch but Santos moves out of range. Munoz looks to throw the jab but Santos is out of range. Santos takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Munoz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Santos moves away. Santos shoots in and drives through. Munoz sprawls well. Santos fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rodrigo Santos. That's going to take a lot out of him. Munoz moves into range and clinches up with Santos. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Munoz pushes Santos back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Rodrigo Santos has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Munoz gets through Santos's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Munoz scores with a shot to the side of Santos's head. Santos takes a shot to the head. A quick uppercut on the inside from Munoz. Munoz turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control! Munoz lands an elbow. Munoz wants to control but Santos is keeping him busy. Munoz lands some shots froms side control. Santos on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Munoz lands a nice forearm strike. Munoz cracks Santos with a big elbow.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Munoz remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Santos avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Munoz. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Santos sneaks back into half guard. Munoz seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Santos does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Santos is trying to stand up here but Munoz is controlling him well. Munoz trying to control the action but Santos is working from the bottom. Munoz lands strikes from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Nice strikes from Munoz there. Santos wants to sweep but Munoz has passed to side control! Santos can't do much from the bottom here. Munoz wants to control but Santos is keeping him busy. Santos takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Munoz with the ground and pound but Santos regains half guard under the barage of strikes. Santos controlling the position well.
And that's the end of the fight! Mark Munoz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Munoz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

In favor of your winner, by unanimous decision... Mark Munoz! Mark Munoz decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
