The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Salazar keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Salazar fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Morley manages to avoid it. Alvaro Salazar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice jab there from Morley. Salazar shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it. Morley slaps away a takedown attempt from Salazar, before circling back to the center of the mat. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alvaro Salazar. That's going to take a lot out of him. Salazar throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Salazar connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe. Salazar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Morley defends it nicely. Salazar shoots in and drives through. Morley sprawls well.

Morley leaves Salazar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Salazar takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Salazar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Salazar is thwarting Morley's attempts to control the position. Salazar is working for a submission of some sort.

Morley sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though. Salazar prevents Morley from improving his position. Salazar seems to be working for a kimura but Morley defends the submission attempt. Morley is looking to improve his position.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Morley is trying to maintain the position but Salazar is very close to passing his half guard. Salazar wants to work for an arm triangle but Morley is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Salazar is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Morley is just riding it out for now. Salazar eventually gives up the hold. Morley is trying to get back to full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Salazar in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Morley tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Salazar!
