Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kamal Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stuart Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kamal Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Stuart Douglas!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Skip Squint and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas misses with an attempted mid kick.
Silva fails in his attempt to clinch.
Douglas checks a low kick from Silva.
Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Douglas paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Silva tries to clinch there but Douglas circles away.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Douglas sprawls well.
No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Silva loads up on a big right hand but Douglas slips the punch.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt.
Douglas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Silva moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Silva tries to clinch up but Douglas circles away and keeps his distance.
Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Silva is looking to advance position but Douglas won't allow it.
Silva lands strikes from half guard.
Douglas wants to get back to his feet.
Silva is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Douglas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Silva.

Silva is looking to advance position but Douglas won't allow it.
Silva is trying to work for a kimura but Douglas is defending well.

Silva uses his free foot to push down on Douglas's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Douglas.
Silva breaks from Douglas's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Silva controlling the position easily from mount.
Douglas is working to get back to half guard.

Douglas tries to hold on but Silva pushes him away.
Silva takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Silva looking to control but Douglas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Silva stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Douglas moves into the clinch successfully.
Silva tries to pull guard but Douglas forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Silva wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Silva misses with an elbow over the top.
Douglas pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Douglas looks to land a combination but Silva avoids it well.
Douglas throws a good cross that connects.
Douglas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Silva.
Douglas goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Kamal Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva throws a half hearted mid kick.
Silva closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Silva stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Douglas tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Douglas gets caught napping as Silva dives in and scores a takedown. Douglas manages to retain guard.
Douglas is breathing heavily.
Douglas is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Silva trying to control the position from guard on top but Douglas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Silva works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Silva escapes and gets back to his feet.
Douglas tries to move into range but Silva moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Silva throws a lazy head kick
and Douglas counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Silva is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Douglas's half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Silva is trying to work for a kimura but Douglas is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Douglas is in trouble now - Silva has advanced to mount!

Douglas can't escape the position.
Silva tries to control but Douglas wriggling away.
Silva stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Silva looks to clinch
and Douglas counters with a series of strikes. Silva will be more careful next time no doubt.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silva changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Douglas tries to avoid it but Silva manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Douglas to the ground. Douglas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Silva shoots in looking for a takedown but Douglas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Silva's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kamal Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Douglas lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Douglas darts in and clinches Silva up against the cage.
Silva is looking to break free of the clinch but Douglas has double underhooks.
Douglas's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Douglas misses with a series of wild punches.
Douglas pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Silva back to the cage. Douglas follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Douglas throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Silva fails with an attempt to clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kamal Silva dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Douglas keeps the fight on the outside.
Silva moves to clinch but Douglas breaks away
and Douglas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Douglas counters with a head kick.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
A left lands for Douglas.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Silva is defended easily by Douglas.

Silva is trying to control. Douglas wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Douglas scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Silva fails to land the takedown.
Silva darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Nice sprawl there from Douglas as Silva shoots in.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Douglas!
Douglas lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Douglas lands a body shot.
No joy there for Douglas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Silva takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

The fight stays on the outside here - Silva looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Good leg kick by Douglas there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Douglas throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Silva takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Silva shoots in and drives through. Douglas sprawls well.
A jab from Douglas does it's job there.
Douglas thows a body kick. Silva tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Silva fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Douglas scores with a one two! Silva had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Silva shoots for a takedown but Douglas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Douglas misses with the combination.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Douglas but Douglas pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Stuart Douglas seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Douglas connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Silva's hands.
Stuart Douglas has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

and Douglas counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Silva thinking.

Stuart Douglas comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Silva has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
