Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paradorn Skiripan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Janek Smok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Janek Smok!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Ren Mimura and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skiripan doesn't manage to clinch there - Smok circles away.
Smok doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Skiripan counters with a nice body shot.

Paradorn Skiripan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Janek Smok.
Smok is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Skiripan to keep the fight standing.

Skiripan gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Skiripan will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Smok up against the cage.

Skiripan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Smok is defending well for now.

Smok jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Skiripan walks away with a smile on his face. Smok gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Skiripan might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Smok preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Smok working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Skiripan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Skiripan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Skiripan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Smok working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Skiripan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Skiripan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Smok has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Skiripan doesn't defend quickly enough and Smok has managed to lock this one up! Can Skiripan escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Smok on a fantastic submission victory.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Janek Smok! Janek Smok retains his lightweight title!
Our winner, Janek Smok, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
