Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Chersen Lebeng (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Boma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Boma is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Shocking Lemon - Under Star. Chersen Lebeng has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chersen Lebeng!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jason Boma!
The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Josh West and Micheangelo Fripello.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the liver by Boma. Beautiful body shot.
Boma connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Lebeng closes the distance looking to clinch

and Boma counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Boma.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Boma is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Boma's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jason Boma hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Lebeng misses with a takedown attempt

and Boma counters with a takedown into side control.

Boma content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Let's hope that Boma has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Jason Boma has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Lebeng shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Boma counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Boma lands a glancing blow to the side of Lebeng's head.
Lebeng looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

and Boma counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Boma makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Boma is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lebeng is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lebeng has escaped and now he's on top!

Boma rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lebeng moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Boma counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lebeng thinking.
Lebeng uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boma.
Boma lands a nice hook to Lebeng's body. Lebeng takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Chersen Lebeng is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lebeng moves away from the strike by Boma.
Boma tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Lebeng was well out of range. Poor timing from Boma.

Boma lands a nice shot to the body.

and Boma counters with a shoot takedown. Lebeng fights it but they end up in guard.
Boma trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Boma wants to control from the top but Lebeng keeps moving.
Boma is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Lebeng will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Jason Boma was stalling too much, according to the referee.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lebeng is trying to stand.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Boma showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Boma is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Lebeng rather than just go for the knockout.
Lebeng tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Boma paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Boma has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

and Boma counters with a shoot takedown. Lebeng fights it but they end up in guard.

Boma must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Boma is working for a submission of some sort.
Boma is looking to advance position but Lebeng won't allow it.

Boma takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Chersen Lebeng has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Boma throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Jason Boma is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

and Boma counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Lebeng thinking.

and Boma connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Boma's corner calls for a 1-2. Boma obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Lebeng uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Boma.
Boma stalks Lebeng and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lebeng's face. Lebeng staggers backwards, shaken.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Lebeng. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Boma throws a body punch but Lebeng moves out of range.
Chersen Lebeng has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Boma seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Jason Boma comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Boma has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
