PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between William O Leary (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Murth (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murth has chosen Enemy as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, William O Leary!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Murth!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Leary throws an overhand right that lands on Murth's shoulder, as Murth tries to avoid the shot.
A looping hook to the body misses from O Leary. Murth does a little dance to reset his feet.
O Leary tries to clinch but Murth moves out of range.

O Leary has closed the distance and engaged Murth in a clinch.
O Leary being controlled against the cage.
O Leary lands a nice uppercut.
A frustrated look appears on Murth's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Murth breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

O Leary throws a lazy right hand but Murth sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Murth cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
O Leary tries to clinch but Murth is having none of it.
O Leary connects with a good right hand that stumbles Murth. Murth circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Murth has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from O Leary.

Murth wants to take the fight to the mat but O Leary manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Murth counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in O Leary's guard now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

O Leary is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Murth is controlling him.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of William O Leary.

That was a close second round but I would say that William O Leary will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. And we move into the final round!

Murth shoots in but O Leary avoids the takedown attempt easily.

O Leary is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

O Leary has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

William O Leary has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to William O Leary.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for O Leary, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
