Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dj Nelson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Toni Rajamaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dj Nelson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Toni Rajamaki!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Nelson closes the distance and clinches.
Nelson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Rajamaki gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Nelson has Rajamaki pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Nelson pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Rajamaki tumbling to the mat - Nelson dives into Rajamaki's guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Rajamaki is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Nelson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Rajamaki rushes Nelson and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Nelson tries to score a body lock takedown but Rajamaki shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Rajamaki wants to break the clinch but can't.
Nelson wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dj Nelson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rajamaki with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Rajamaki is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Nelson is keeping busy.

Rajamaki can't break the clinch.

Nelson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Nelson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Rajamaki circles away.
A head kick misses from Nelson.
Rajamaki slaps away a takedown attempt from Nelson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Nelson has his takedown stuffed
and Rajamaki counters with a good low kick that Nelson was not able to check.
Nelson is breathing heavily.
Nelson swats away the attempt to clinch by Rajamaki.
Rajamaki wants to clinch up but Nelson keeps it at a distance.
Nelson is looking to clinch.
Nice takedown defense from Rajamaki. No joy for Nelson on that attempt.
Rajamaki is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Dj Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rajamaki tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Nelson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rajamaki won't be happy with that.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
You can see the frustration on Rajamaki's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rajamaki is looking to reverse the position.
Rajamaki is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Rajamaki manages to get to full guard.
Rajamaki is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Rajamaki is looking to sinch up a triangle. Nelson throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Rajamaki's body to avoid the submission. Rajamaki has instead reached around Nelson's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Rajamaki arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Toni Rajamaki!
A relieved looking Toni Rajamaki thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
