Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andre Lopes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Seakga Tladi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Andre Lopes has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andre Lopes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Seakga Tladi!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Roger Salmon and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tladi throws a head kick that misses.
Lopes doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Tladi counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Lopes!
Lopes is wriggling around trying to escape.
Tladi working Lopes over with strikes here.

Tladi is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Lopes can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Tladi controlling from the full mount.
Let's hope that Tladi has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tladi throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Tladi lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Lopes hang on?
Lopes is looking to improve his position but Tladi isn't that keen on the idea.
Tladi can't control as he wanted to and Lopes manages to get the fight back to his half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tladi trying to control the action but Lopes is working from the bottom.
Tladi keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Tladi moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Lopes.
Tladi lands an elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lopes is looking to regain half guard here but Tladi keeps moving and retains side control.

Tladi decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Tladi scores with a kick to the midsection.
Lopes gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Tladi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lopes's guard.
Tladi controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
It looks like Tladi might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Tladi's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Tladi postures up in Lopes's guard and throws a big left but Lopes blocks it.

Lopes looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Tladi passes into side control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Tladi is looking to take a break and control but Lopes is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Seakga Tladi dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Lopes with a poor takedown

and Tladi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Tladi jumps guard.

Tladi wants to reverse the position here. Lopes has hold of a leg though and he's dropped back looking for a kneebar! The fighters roll across the mat but Tladi is forced to tap! Tladi looks devastated but at least his leg points in the right direction.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Andre Lopes!
A less than humble Andre Lopes misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
