Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alfons Aberg! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of London, Walter Hannedy! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hannedy walks into a left hand. A big right from Aberg misses. Hannedy ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Aberg takes a swing at Hannedy's ribcage but misses. Hannedy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Aberg scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hannedy doesn't seem bothered though. Hannedy fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Aberg takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. Hannedy thows a body shot but no joy. Hannedy misses with a combination
and Aberg counters with a right hand to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hannedy misses with a shot to the body and Aberg counters with a left to the body. Hannedy looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Aberg is fending him off so far but Hannedy persists. Nope, Aberg circles away and we're back to standing. The fighters circle momentarily. Aberg darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch. Aberg throws a combination that misses and Hannedy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Hannedy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Aberg is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Aberg looking for a guillotine here but Hannedy defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Hannedy makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Aberg keeping moving, preventing Hannedy from controlling successfully. Hannedy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Hannedy stopping the sweep attempt from Aberg. Aberg keeping full guard, as Hannedy tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hannedy throwing strikes but missing. Hannedy looking to pass the guard. Hannedy trying to control the position from guard on top but Aberg is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Aberg is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hannedy is aware though and is defending well. Hannedy working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Aberg is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hannedy wants to control from the top but Aberg keeps moving. Hannedy controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hannedy's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Alfons Aberg will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Hannedy connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Aberg blocks a jab. Hannedy thows a body shot but no joy. Hannedy looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Hannedy trying to control the action but Aberg is working from the bottom. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Aberg is trying to maintain the position but Hannedy is very close to passing his half guard. Aberg is looking for a sweep. Hannedy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Aberg is trying to control but can't.

Hannedy controls from within his opponent's guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Aberg utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Walter Hannedy showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!

It looks like Alfons Aberg has been cut. Good shot there by Hannedy. Hannedy closes the distance and clinches up with Aberg, looking for a takedown. Hannedy pushes Aberg against the cage but Aberg circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Hannedy looks to land a combination but Aberg avoids it well. Hannedy with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Aberg to score with a decent uppercut. Hannedy slips a jab from Aberg. Hannedy is trying hard to land a takedown here. Aberg sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Aberg has taken the fight to the clinch.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick. Hannedy feints and as Aberg raises his hands in defense, Hannedy changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Aberg looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Hannedy is pushing down on Aberg's leg trying to pass to half guard. Aberg is fighting to maintain full guard but Hannedy has managed to sneak the leg through. Hannedy wants to take a breather but Aberg is having none of it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hannedy is just content to waste time from the top position. Aberg takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard. Hannedy wants to control from the top but Aberg keeps moving. Aberg isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hannedy stacks Aberg on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hannedy! Hannedy scoring with punches and elbows. Hannedy is trying to get an arm triangle but Aberg is defending well. Aberg is working to avoid the ground and pound but Hannedy connects with a decent elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hannedy controlling the position. Hannedy in side control, throwing shots but Aberg defends. Aberg tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck. Hannedy looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Poor strikes thrown by Hannedy there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
And that's the end of the fight! Walter Hannedy comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Hannedy has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Walter Hannedy decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
