Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lukasz Niewi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rameau Thierry Sokoudjou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sokoudjou is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Nickelback - Gotta Be Somebody. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Colin Fotheringham and Chris Edwards.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Niewi tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sokoudjou paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Sokoudjou clinches up with Niewi and pushes him back against the cage.
Sokoudjou lands with a short shot to the head.
Sokoudjou lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Sokoudjou escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Niewi closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sokoudjou circles away.
Sokoudjou tests Niewi's chin there with a solid looking shot.
It looks like Lukasz Niewi has been cut.
Niewi shoots in looking for a takedown. Sokoudjou tries to sprawl out of it but Niewi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Sokoudjou manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Sokoudjou postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Niewi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Sokoudjou, into his guard.
Sokoudjou is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Niewi is controlling him.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sokoudjou can do anything to dispel that myth.
Niewi sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sokoudjou's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sokoudjou looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Niewi pushes past his half guard into mount!
Poor strikes thrown by Niewi there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sokoudjou has given up his back, trying to stand up. Not clever.
Will Niewi go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

That was a close round but I would say that Lukasz Niewi will probably get the nod.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
A momentary lapse in concentration from Niewi enables Sokoudjou to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Niewi manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Niewi not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Niewi will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Niewi can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Sokoudjou controls the pace.

Sokoudjou must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Sokoudjou connects with a nice short shot to Niewi's temple.
Niewi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
