Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Spartacus Gladiator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwayne Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gladiator looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gladiator misses with a takedown attempt - Silva sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gladiator.

Gladiator postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Silva really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gladiator. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gladiator feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gladiator is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Silva has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Silva tries to hold on but Gladiator pushes him away.
Silva reaches up to try and control the position but Gladiator seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Silva rolls and tries to escape and now Gladiator has his back!
