Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Woods (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Degen Gambler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Degen Gambler!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Jorge Garcia and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gambler gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Woods connects with a jab.
Gambler throws a sloppy head kick and Woods moves out of range easily.
Gambler throws a head kick but Woods moves out of range.
Gambler throws a hook but Woods avoids it easily.
Gambler keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Woods throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Gambler blocks a low kick nicely.

and Gambler counters with a crisp one two that drops Woods! Gambler thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Woods to his feet! Woods is in big trouble!

Oh Woods is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Woods wants to control but Gambler is keeping him busy.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Woods wants to free his trapped foot but Gambler is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Gambler is staying active underneath Woods, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Woods passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gambler!
Woods is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Gambler can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Gambler holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Woods tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Woods tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Woods throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Gambler because Woods loaded up on that one.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Woods throwing strikes here but Gambler is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

That was a close round but I would say that James Woods will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

James Woods seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gambler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Woods moves away.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Woods crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gambler - the referee stops the clock and Woods gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gambler. Woods manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Woods throws a right hand that Gambler ducks under and follows up with a left that Gambler also avoids with ease.

It looks like James Woods has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Woods is on top in guard.

James Woods overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Woods throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gambler works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Woods is looking to advance position but Gambler has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Degen Gambler seems to be getting the better of the standup.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Woods throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gambler counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Woods is lucky that one didn't land flush.
Gambler ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Woods goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Woods misses with a leg kick.
Gambler scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Woods doesn't seem bothered though.

Gambler drops Woods with a straight right hand, right on the button! Gambler follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:10 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Degen Gambler!
