Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Paulsen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Reese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Paulsen comes to the cage accompanied by Can I Play With Madness. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 28 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jan Paulsen!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, David Reese!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Valeri Chadov and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Reese delivers a nice body kick.
Paulsen chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Paulsen takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Paulsen blocks a low kick nicely.
Paulsen tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Reese tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Paulsen was well out of range. Poor timing from Reese.
A head kick from Reese lands but Paulsen takes it in his stride.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Paulsen throws a solid leg kick but Reese takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Paulsen.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Paulsen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Reese has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Reese and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Paulsen pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Reese back to the cage. Paulsen follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.


It looks like David Reese has been cut.
Reese drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Reese tries to work over Paulsen's front leg with a kick but Paulsen checks it.
Paulsen on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Reese. Reese obviously looking to wear him down.
Reese connects with a jab.
Reese fails in his attempt to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reese swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Reese throws a body kick, spinning off balance
letting Paulsen counter with a right hand.
Reese uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Paulsen.
Jan Paulsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Paulsen falls off balance throwing a combination
and Reese cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Paulsen misses the shot to the body.
Reese on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Reese throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Paulsen lands with a nice combination. Reese backs away looking to recover.

Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Paulsen. Reese shrugs it off though.
A slapping body kick lands there for Paulsen.
Reese looks gassed!
Paulsen swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Paulsen looks for the body kick but Reese saw that one coming.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Paulsen walks into a stiff left hand from Reese.
A slow jab from Paulsen misses its intended target.
Reese lands with a straight right. Paulsen didn't see that one coming.
Reese takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Reese tries to clinch up but Paulsen circles away and keeps his distance.
Paulsen misses with a body shot.
David Reese is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Paulsen misses with an attempted mid kick.
Paulsen thuds a left hand into Reese's body.
Paulsen uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Paulsen scores with a punch to the head.
Paulsen ducks under a wild hook from Reese.
Paulsen scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Paulsen is looking to wear down Reese with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Paulsen stuns Reese with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Paulsen will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Paulsen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Paulsen lands a slapping body shot.
Reese avoids the body shot from Paulsen.
Paulsen lands with a nice body kick.
Reese closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Paulsen stuns Reese with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Reese takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Paulsen looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Paulsen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Reese is not content to let Paulsen control the position.
Paulsen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

The ref stands the fighters back up because Jan Paulsen just wasn't active enough.
Paulsen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Reese moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jan Paulsen dominated that round.
The cut man is working on David Reese's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Reese throws a body punch but Paulsen moves out of range.
Reese tries to clinch up but Paulsen circles away and keeps his distance.
Some wild striking there from Reese.
Reese thows a leg kick but Paulsen checks it
and Paulsen counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Reese swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Reese is looking to land body kicks.
Reese scores with a jab. Paulsen acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Reese tries to move into range but Paulsen moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Paulsen dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Paulsen lands a leg kick that knocks Reese off balance momentarily.
Reese is breathing heavily.
A slapping leg kick lands for Paulsen.
Paulsen misses with an attempted mid kick.
The fighters circle momentarily. Paulsen darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Reese just misses with a punch to the body.
Reese seems to be squinting his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. Paulsen shows no mercy and swarms him with a barage of strikes! Reese is backing up but Paulsen catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Reese covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! Paulsen Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jan Paulsen!

Jan Paulsen decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
