Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Rick Ruffa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, John Doe!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Donald Grub and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doe misses with a takedown attempt - Ruffa sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Doe throws out a powerful jab.
Doe looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Doe lands a head kick. Ruffa smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Doe tries to clinch there but Ruffa circles away.
Ruffa shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Doe as he avoids it easily.
Doe throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Ruffa's head.
Doe throws a head kick that misses.
Doe lands a head kick. Ruffa smiles back at him and beckons him forward.


It looks like Rick Ruffa has been cut.
Doe moves in looking to clinch but Ruffa pushes him off.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Doe takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Doe slaps away a takedown attempt from Ruffa, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Doe lands with a kick to the temple. Ruffa shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Ruffa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rick Ruffa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ruffa tries for a takedown but Doe sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Doe bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Doe wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ruffa keeps working.
Ruffa prevents Doe from moving into mount.
Ruffa throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.

Doe wants to stand but Ruffa has his arm trapped.

Ruffa is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Doe has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Doe decides to stand back up. Doe steps back and let's Ruffa get back to his feet.
Doe looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ruffa is trying hard to land a takedown here. Doe sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Doe lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Doe stalks Ruffa and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Ruffa's face. Ruffa staggers backwards, shaken.
Ruffa on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ruffa leaves Doe with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Doe throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Doe tries to clinch there but Ruffa circles away.
Ruffa keeps the fight on the outside.

Ruffa tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Doe swivels and escapes.
Ruffa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Doe sprawls well. Doe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ruffa gets slowly back to his feet.
Doe misses with a two punch combination.
Ruffa misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Ruffa shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Doe is trying to defend but Ruffa finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Doe is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Ruffa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Ruffa's back!

That's time! Ruffa's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Doe has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
John Doe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ruffa shoots for a double leg takedown but Doe sprawls well. He's pushed Ruffa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ruffa looks up at the clock and then as Doe takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Ruffa smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

You can see the frustration on Doe's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Rick Ruffa will probably get the nod.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Ruffa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Doe's waist but Doe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ruffa off to one side.

Doe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ruffa quickly recovers to half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ruffa wants to control but Doe is keeping busy.
Doe seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Doe is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Doe is keen to just control but Ruffa is a slippery customer.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doe throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Ruffa.
Rick Ruffa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Ruffa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doe tries to avoid it but Ruffa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doe to the ground. Doe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Doe throws out a powerful jab.
Doe lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Ruffa fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Doe is defended easily by Ruffa.
Doe throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

No luck for Doe with that takedown attempt.
Ruffa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Doe but Doe pushes him off and we're back to square one.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

John Doe comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
