Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chad Griggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubba Frank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bubba Frank told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chad Griggs! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Bubba Frank! The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Lou da Vinci and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frank's jab looks to have found its range, popping Griggs under the eye. Frank lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Griggs circles away quickly and effectively. Griggs shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Frank is trying to defend but Griggs finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Frank is trying to get back to full guard. Frank is looking to escape. Griggs thows a huge punch but Frank dodges it nicely.
Griggs tries to pass to full mount but Frank defends it. Griggs not landing any meaningful shots this time. Griggs thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Frank's head. Griggs is nestled in close to Frank, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Griggs is thwarting Frank's attempts to control the position. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Griggs is looking to take a break and control but Frank is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griggs missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Griggs not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Frank is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Griggs scores with a couple of nice shots. Frank keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Griggs thows a huge punch but Frank dodges it nicely.
Griggs throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Griggs sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Frank defending well though. Griggs lands with a punch from half guard. Frank avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Griggs. Griggs thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Griggs sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Frank defending well though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frank trying to control but Griggs postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Frank is trying to get back to full guard. Griggs is pressing down on Frank's thigh, looking to free his foot. Frank is holding on for now. Griggs wants to control but Frank is keeping him busy. Griggs throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Frank trying to control from the bottom.
Frank taking some punishment here, with Griggs in his half guard. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Griggs not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Griggs is looking for a kimura but Frank is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Griggs to get the leverage. Frank wants to get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Frank tries to get to full guard but Griggs has control of the leg. Griggs throwing shots but Frank is blocking nicely. Griggs landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Griggs misses with a head shot. Frank uses the momentum to regain guard. Griggs is stalling in the full guard. Griggs stands up over Frank, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Griggs passes easily into side control. Nice work. Griggs tries to advance to mount but can't. Griggs working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Griggs is putting a hurting on Frank here, landing some big shots from side control. Frank is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Griggs has just dragged him back down to the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. You can see the frustration on Frank's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Frank is not content to let Griggs control the position. Griggs fails to land a wild elbow strike.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Chad Griggs dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Griggs dives in and grabs Frank's left leg, looking for a takedown. Frank pushes down on Griggs's head and hops out. Frank ducks down and throws a hook to the body. The fight stays on the outside here - Griggs looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Griggs shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Frank but Frank pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bubba Frank seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A jab lands there for Frank.
It looks like Chad Griggs has been cut. Griggs takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Frank lands with a good body shot. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Frank lands a left and a right that send Griggs crashing to the mat, dazed. Frank thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet! Bubba Frank seems to be getting the better of the standup. Sloppy strikes from Frank. Those never looked like landing. Frank cracks a nice hook into Griggs's ribs. Frank throws a right and a left that both miss. Griggs takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Frank changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Griggs shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Chad Griggs. That's going to take a lot out of him. Danga de danga de dang - Frank scores with a four punch combination!
Griggs is rocked! Frank swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Griggs shoots for a takedown but Frank saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Frank drops Griggs with a beautiful combination! Griggs stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Frank is looking for the KO! Oh Griggs is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Griggs gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Frank gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bubba Frank!
