Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spandex Rex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Black's choice of entrance music: Scatman - John Scatman. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Spandex Rex!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 14 - 0, fighting out of London, Mike Black!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rex gets a double leg takedown into Black's guard.
Rex throws a big elbow that misses.
Black preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Black wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Black wants to stand but Rex is controlling the position.
Rex wants to pass the guard but Black is keeping the position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Rex's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Rex trying to control but Black is working from the bottom.
Rex has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Rex throws a big elbow that misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Black keeping full guard, as Rex tries to pass.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rex accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Rex pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Black is keeping the position for now.
Rex postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Black is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Black really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rex. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rex postures up in Black's guard and throws a big left but Black blocks it.
Rex wants to control from the top but Black keeps moving.

Rex decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rex just misses with a punch to the body.
No luck for Black with that takedown attempt.
Rex connects with a body shot that sends Black's belly button to the back.

Rex shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Black is trying to defend but Rex finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Black is staying active underneath Rex, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Rex is working for a submission of some sort.
Rex thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rex sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Black defending well though.
Rex seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Black does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rex thows a huge punch but Black dodges it nicely.
Rex working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Rex thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Black's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Rex connects with a nice short shot to Black's temple.
Rex is looking to advance position but Black won't allow it.
Rex thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Black on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Rex trying to control the action but Black is working from the bottom.
Rex passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Black!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Poor strikes thrown by Rex there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

Rex working for a guillotine from mount but Black is in no mood to give up.
Black is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Black tries to hold on but Rex postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Black is in a horrible position here. Rex smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Rex fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spandex Rex dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Rex swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Black shoots for a double leg takedown but Rex sprawls well. He's pushed Black's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Rex closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Black has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Rex is working away from the top position though.
Rex scoring with strikes to the body and head.

Rex is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Black sees it coming and defends easily.
Rex lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rex is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Rex works his foot free and advances to mount.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Black is rocked!


It looks like Mike Black has been cut.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Black can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rex connects with a bit shot that sees Black covering up! More strikes from Rex and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Rex is our winner by TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Spandex Rex!
