Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damian Staley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryu Hyabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Damian Staley could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Ryu Hyabusa's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Damian Staley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ryu Hyabusa! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, David Schapiro and Anthony Taglia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Staley looks to land a combination but Hyabusa avoids it well. Hyabusa connects with a good right hand that stumbles Staley. Staley circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Staley changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hyabusa tries to avoid it but Staley manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hyabusa to the ground. Hyabusa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Staley misses with an uppercut
and Hyabusa counters with a stiff right hand. Nice body punch from Hyabusa. Staley swings away with a body shot that misses
and Hyabusa connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Staley shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hyabusa's guard. Hyabusa working a defensive guard here.
Hyabusa might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Staley kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Staley trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Staley is working hard here to advance position. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Staley accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hyabusa not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Staley looks for a takedown but Hyabusa sprawls well. Staley shoots in looking for a takedown. Hyabusa tries to sprawl out of it but Staley keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hyabusa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Damian Staley. That's going to take a lot out of him. No luck for Staley with that takedown attempt. Staley is breathing heavily. Staley rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hyabusa moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Staley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hyabusa swivels and escapes. Staley misses with a combination
and Hyabusa counters with a straight right hand. Staley throws an overhand right that lands on Hyabusa's shoulder, as Hyabusa tries to avoid the shot. Hyabusa throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Staley colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Hyabusa as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Staley is left battered and dazed whilst Hyabusa and his camp cheer!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryu Hyabusa!
