Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Matt Melbye! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, R J MacReady! The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Joseph Jones and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MacReady looks to land a combination but Melbye avoids it well. Melbye throws a sloppy head kick and MacReady moves out of range easily. Melbye scores with a head kick.
MacReady throws a wild combination but nothing lands. MacReady scores with a one two! Melbye had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. MacReady rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Melbye moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Melbye misses with a wild combination.

and Melbye counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Melbye is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Melbye prevents MacReady from standing back up.
Melbye works his way into full mount! We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if MacReady can do anything to dispel that myth. Melbye is working for a guillotine from mount but MacReady frees his head quite easily.
Melbye looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacReady is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Melbye is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. MacReady can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
MacReady squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Melbye moves to back control. Melbye tightening his grip on MacReady, looking for the choke. Melbye is breathing heavily. MacReady is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. MacReady is trying to defend against the choke here but Melbye has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Melbye Tightens the hold and MacReady taps out furiously! Melbye displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
