Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Billy Durant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Oneil (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that James Oneil was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Billy Durant! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Oneil! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Roger Salmon and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Durant tries to close the distance and clinch but Oneil swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Oneil with a lazy takedown attempt and Durant counters by moving into the clinch. Oneil tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Oneil fails to pull guard.
Billy Durant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Oneil. Durant is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath. Oneil tries to pull guard but Durant forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Oneil jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Durant walks away with a smile on his face. Oneil gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Durant fails with an attempt to clinch.
Durant tries to clinch but Oneil is having none of it. Oneil shoots in but no luck this time. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Oneil.
That's one minute gone in the round. Durant tries to clinch but Oneil moves away and Oneil counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Oneil tries to free his leg and advance position but Durant is retaining full guard. Oneil trying to control the position from guard on top but Durant is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oneil drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Oneil jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Durant keeping moving, preventing Oneil from controlling successfully. Oneil wants to pass the guard but Durant is keeping the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oneil trying to control the position from guard on top but Durant is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
James Oneil has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Oneil swats away the attempt to clinch by Durant. The fight stays on the outside here - Durant looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Durant tries to clinch and Oneil counters with a shoot takedown. Durant fights it but they end up in guard. Durant is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Oneil drops back looking for a leg! Durant is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Durant manages to kick Oneil off! Oneil jumps back into Durant's guard. Oneil's corner is telling him to maintain position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oneil trying to control the position from guard on top but Durant is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Oneil is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. He's landed in Durant's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Oneil trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Oneil is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Oneil showing good wrestling skills to control the position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Durant on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Durant tries to get out of the position. Oneil wants to control from the top but Durant keeps moving. Oneil is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Durant controlling Oneil's posture. Oneil trying to control but Durant is working from the bottom. Oneil passes easily into side control. Nice work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oneil is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Durant is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Oneil tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Oneil has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Oneil thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Oneil showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Durant keeping moving, preventing Oneil from controlling successfully. Durant is pulling down on Oneil's head. It's preventing any offense from Oneil, at least for the moment.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Billy Durant. Oneil circles away from the clinch attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Durant tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Oneil paws at him with a jab and circles away. Durant looks to clinch and Oneil counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Well,Durant is on his way to losing a decision here. Can he use his experience to pull something off in the closing minutes? Oneil wants to control from the top but Durant keeps moving. Oneil engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Durant looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Oneil trying to control the position from guard on top but Durant is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by James Oneil. Durant defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Oneil. Billy Durant has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Durant wants to clinch up but Oneil keeps it at a distance. Durant is looking to clinch but Oneil is avoiding it.
Oneil swats away the attempt to clinch by Durant. Durant wants to clinch so Oneil counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Oneil preventing the sweep. James Oneil is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Oneil passes into half guard. Oneil content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Oneil wants to control but Durant is keeping him busy.
And that's the end of the fight! James Oneil comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Oneil winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
