Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Paxton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Soul Goodman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Soul Goodman! The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No luck with that takedown attempt from Goodman. Paxton closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Goodman wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Paxton throwing shots but missing, from side control. Paxton fails to land a wild elbow strike.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Goodman can do anything to dispel that myth. Goodman can't do much from the bottom here. Goodman is looking for a sweep. Paxton landing strikes. Paxton lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Paxton has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Goodman uses from the top position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Goodman preventing the sweep. Goodman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Paxton looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Goodman has picked Paxton up and slammed him! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andy Paxton. That's going to take a lot out of him. Goodman stands up from Paxton's guard - Goodman perhaps looking for a knockout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Goodman misses with a body kick. Paxton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Goodman moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Goodman should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Goodman shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Paxton as he jumps to the side. Goodman circles away from the clinch attempt.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Paxton shoots in and drives through. Goodman sprawls well. Goodman throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Paxton was covering up waiting for the punch and Goodman finishes the takedown easily into guard. Goodman passes Paxton's right leg, so he's now in half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Goodman shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Paxton's guard. Goodman trying to control but Paxton is working from the bottom. Paxton wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Goodman manages to pass to side control. Goodman can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Paxton is looking to escape. Paxton regains half guard. Goodman trying to mount his opponent but Paxton defends it.

Paxton scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Paxton shoots in looking for a takedown but Goodman manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Paxton's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Goodman fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Paxton, pushing him back against the cage. The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch. Goodman tries to stall but Paxton uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Goodman throwing sloppy strikes. Goodman controlling the position well here. Paxton rolled but Goodman kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Goodman gets his hands free as Paxton looks to control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Goodman is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Paxton knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Paxton for a finish.
