Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pertti Pulkkinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ray Johnstone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Pertti Pulkkinen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ray Johnstone! The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A head kick misses from Pulkkinen. Johnstone fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Johnstone looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pulkkinen is fending him off so far but Johnstone persists. Nope, Pulkkinen circles away and we're back to standing. Johnstone takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Pulkkinen lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Good leg kick by Pulkkinen there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Johnstone looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Pertti Pulkkinen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ray Johnstone. Pulkkinen thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Johnstone if he has to take too many more of those.
Johnstone gets a takedown into half guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Pulkkinen is controlling Johnstone's trapped leg to prevent Johnstone from advancing to side control. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The fighters are battling for position here. Pulkkinen manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnstone is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Pulkkinen controlling the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Pulkkinen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Pulkkinen wants to sweep but no luck. Pulkkinen is looking to stand up but Johnstone isn't so interested in that idea. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Johnstone's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnstone drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Pulkkinen dives on top into guard. Johnstone looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Pulkkinen passes into half guard.
Pulkkinen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Johnstone on the ground. Johnstone throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Johnstone has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Pulkkinen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Johnstone trying to control from the bottom.
Johnstone looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Pulkkinen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnstone keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnstone tries to get to full guard but Pulkkinen has control of the leg. Pulkkinen slows the pace down in half guard. Johnstone is staying active underneath Pulkkinen, who seems content to just control the action from this position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnstone can do anything to dispel that myth. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Johnstone has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pulkkinen is working away from the top position though. Johnstone is looking to improve his position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Pertti Pulkkinen just wasn't active enough. Pulkkinen with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Pulkkinen looks to score with a jab to the body but Johnstone is just out of range. A nice inside leg kick there by Pulkkinen. That's going to slow Johnstone down. Pulkkinen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Johnstone shoots in and drives through. Pulkkinen sprawls well. Johnstone fails to land the takedown. Some wild striking there from Pulkkinen.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnstone takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Pulkkinen thuds his shin into the meat of Johnstone's side. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pertti Pulkkinen dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Johnstone has a takedown stuffed. Pertti Pulkkinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pulkkinen throws a nice inside leg kick. Pulkkinen throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land. Johnstone looks to clinch and Pulkkinen counters with a good low kick that Johnstone was not able to check. Pulkkinen lands a head kick!
It looks like Ray Johnstone has been cut. Pulkkinen goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Pulkkinen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Pulkkinen throws a leg kick but Johnstone moved away. Pulkkinen scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Pulkkinen is looking to slow Johnstone down with leg kicks. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Nice body kick from Pulkkinen.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pulkkinen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Pertti Pulkkinen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Johnstone closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Pulkkinen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Johnstone working away. Johnstone is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Pulkkinen has escaped the position, nice work there. Johnstone tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Johnstone tries for a kimura but Pulkkinen is defending well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Johnstone in side control, throwing shots but Pulkkinen defends. Johnstone in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Pulkkinen is trying to improve his position. Johnstone thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Ray Johnstone has got the better of the ground game so far. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnstone working away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Johnstone goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Pulkkinen rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Johnstone's guard! Nice work there by Pulkkinen! Johnstone is striking from the bottom but Pulkkinen uses the opportunity to pass into half guard. Johnstone wants to get back to full guard. Pulkkinen thows a huge punch but Johnstone dodges it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Johnstone looking for submissions off his back. Johnstone has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pulkkinen is working away from the top position though. Johnstone looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Pulkkinen is looking to stall here but Johnstone recovers full guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Johnstone is looking to sinch up a triangle. Pulkkinen throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Johnstone's body to avoid the submission. Johnstone has instead reached around Pulkkinen's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Johnstone arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ray Johnstone! After winning the bout, Ray Johnstone thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
