Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Archie Bunker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doug Harvey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bunker comes into the arena with Edith singin Those were the days.... blaring out of the sound system. Harvey has chosen Bitches Brew as his entrance music. Doug Harvey has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Archie Bunker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Doug Harvey!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Daniel Franklin and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bunker pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice sprawl there from Harvey as Bunker shoots in.
Doug Harvey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Harvey throws a leg kick
and Bunker counters with a body kick that stops Harvey in his tracks momentarily.
Harvey is looking to score with low kicks.
Bunker shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Harvey sprawls well. Harvey wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bunker gets slowly back to his feet.

Harvey shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Bunker tries to kick Harvey off but Harvey keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Harvey tries to pass to full mount but Bunker defends it.
Bunker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Bunker is not content to let Harvey control the position.

Doug Harvey has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

A battle for position here, against the cage.

Bunker pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Bunker fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Harvey to the ground. Bunker is now in Harvey's guard.

Bunker throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Harvey works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Harvey wants to stand but Bunker is controlling the position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Bunker throws a big right hand that misses.

Bunker is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Harvey is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Harvey has escaped and now he's on top!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doug Harvey dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Harvey throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Harvey slips a jab from Bunker.
Harvey wants to slow Bunker down by chopping away at his legs.
Bunker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Harvey moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Harvey avoids the head kick by Bunker.
Bunker tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Harvey manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bunker lands with a good body shot.
Bunker slaps away a takedown attempt from Harvey, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Bunker lands with a hook. Harvey tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Bunker throws a series of punches but Harvey avoids them all with ease.
Harvey keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Bunker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harvey tries to avoid it but Bunker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harvey to the ground. Harvey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Bunker misses with a head kick.
Bunker stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Harvey.

Harvey shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Bunker striking off his back but it's not causing Harvey any problems.
Doug Harvey has got the better of the ground game so far.

Harvey wants to control from the top but Bunker keeps moving.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Harvey pushing down on Bunker's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Harvey is keen to just control but Bunker is a slippery customer.

Harvey throws a series of punches but Bunker avoids them all with ease.

Bunker looks like he's trying to stand up.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Harvey lands a nice short elbow.

Bunker is refusing to be controlled, as Harvey sits in half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Harvey stalling.
Bunker wants to get back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Harvey is keen to just control but Bunker is a slippery customer.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doug Harvey showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Bunker changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Harvey tries to avoid it but Bunker manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Harvey to the ground. Harvey escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Harvey swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Bunker plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Archie Bunker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Harvey throws a leg kick which misses Bunker's front leg but catches the back leg as Bunker tries to avoid it.

Bunker gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Harvey showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Harvey cracks Bunker with a solid left hand.

Bunker misses with a takedown attempt - Harvey sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Harvey fails with the takedown.
Bunker shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Harvey as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Archie Bunker. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Harvey closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bunker quickly recovers to half guard.

Bunker actively working from the bottom here.
Harvey thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Bunker's head.
Harvey uses his free foot to push down on Bunker's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Bunker.

Harvey lands a nice shot to the head.
Harvey is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Harvey cracks Bunker with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Harvey lands a heavy elbow.


Bunker is rocked!


It looks like Archie Bunker has been cut.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Harvey controlling the position easily from mount.
A big strike lands for Harvey! That's really hurt Bunker and he's turned his back - Harvey keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Harvey jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:59 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Doug Harvey!
