The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gardner closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Reis quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Gardner trying to control the action but Reis is working from the bottom.
Gardner is just content to waste time from the top position. Reis takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

Gardner tries to stand but Reis is controlling from the bottom.
