Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ben Penties (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Theodore Lyndon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ben Penties looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Winston Howard and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lyndon shoots in and gets a takedown into Penties's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Lyndon trying to control but Penties is working from the bottom.

Penties is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Lyndon preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Penties moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Lyndon.

Penties cracks Lyndon with a big right hand but Lyndon just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Lyndon is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Penties is staying active.

Horrible takedown by Lyndon or perhaps it was just good defense by Penties which made him look bad.

Lyndon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ben Penties.
