Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ingimar Menzies (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Drysdale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Drysdale! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Drysdale tries for a takedown but Menzies sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Nice sprawl there from Drysdale as Menzies shoots in. Drysdale manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Menzies on his heels. He'll look to pass Menzies's guard now, I'm sure. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Menzies wants to stand and escape but Drysdale is having none of it. Menzies could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Drysdale trying to control but Menzies is working from the bottom. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Drysdale seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Drysdale won't allow Menzies to get back to his feet. The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Mark Drysdale. Drysdale shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Menzies as he avoids it easily. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! No luck for Drysdale with that takedown attempt. Ingimar Menzies has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Drysdale. Nice sprawl there from Drysdale as Menzies shoots in. Menzies shoots in for a takedown but Drysdale shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Menzies gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Drysdale controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Drysdale lands a couple of digs. Drysdale looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Drysdale wants to control from the top but Menzies keeps moving.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Mark Drysdale hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Menzies shoots in for a double leg but Drysdale sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Menzies shoots in and drives through. Drysdale sprawls well. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Menzies is defended easily by Drysdale. Drysdale feints and as Menzies raises his hands in defense, Drysdale changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Drysdale showing good wrestling skills to control the position. Drysdale trying to control the position from guard on top but Menzies is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Drysdale has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Drysdale thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Drysdale won't allow Menzies to get back to his feet. Drysdale cracks Menzies with a solid left hand. Drysdale sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Menzies's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Drysdale not doing much here.
Drysdale in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Menzies tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Drysdale!
