Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mark Bravura (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Brooks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brooks has chosen Cult of Personality as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Bravura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Phil Brooks!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brooks drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Brooks in side control, throwing shots but Bravura defends.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bravura is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Brooks is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Bravura will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.
Brooks working the head with strikes.

Brooks is trying to get an arm triangle but Bravura is defending well.

Brooks tries for a kimura but Bravura is defending well.

Bravura dodges the ground and pound from Brooks.
Bravura tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Brooks wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
You can see the frustration on Bravura's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Brooks has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bravura tries to escape but Brooks is in control.

Brooks can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bravura is looking to escape.

Poor strikes thrown by Brooks there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brooks throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Bravura because Brooks loaded up on that one.

Bravura sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Brooks is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bravura!
Brooks throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Bravura is squirming around, avoiding Brooks's attempts to control the action.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Brooks is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bravura is surviving well by controlling Brooks's body position as best he can.

Brooks tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bravura manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Brooks fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bravura on the side of the head.
Bravura is trying hard to land a takedown here. Brooks sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Bravura changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Brooks looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Brooks gets back to half guard.
Bravura is stalling here. Brooks is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bravura seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Brooks has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Bravura knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Brooks on the ground.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Brooks is staying tight to Bravura's torso, preventing him from escaping.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Brooks trying to control the position but Bravura is working away.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Phil Brooks hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Bravura shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Brooks sprawls well. Brooks wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Bravura gets slowly back to his feet.
Brooks defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bravura.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Bravura. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bravura fails to land the takedown.
No luck for Bravura with that takedown attempt.

Brooks closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Brooks staying calm.

Brooks decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Brooks manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Bravura on his heels. He'll look to pass Bravura's guard now, I'm sure.

Bravura is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Bravura keeping moving, preventing Brooks from controlling successfully.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Brooks advances to half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Brooks works his foot free and advances to mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Phil Brooks showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Bravura with a lazy takedown attempt
and Brooks cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bravura throws a leg kick

and Brooks counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Bravura is working an open guard so Brooks takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Brooks throws a right hand that Bravura ducks under and follows up with a left that Bravura also avoids with ease.
No joy there for Bravura, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Brooks fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Bravura to the ground. Brooks is now in Bravura's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Brooks stands and throws Bravura's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Brooks wants to control but Bravura is keeping him busy.
A lull in the action here as Brooks stalls from top position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Brooks is trying to get an arm triangle but Bravura is defending well.

Brooks wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bravura, who protects the arm well.
Phil Brooks has got the better of the ground game so far.
Brooks happy to just control the position for now.

Brooks is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Bravura is surviving well by controlling Brooks's body position as best he can.

Well Brooks has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
