Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nick Horton!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Skip Squint.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Horton feints and as David raises his hands in defense, Horton changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
David looking to control.

Horton stands up and waves to David to follow him.
David misses with an attempted mid kick.
David throws a leg kick that is checked

and Horton counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Horton.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
David looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Horton sitting in guard, not really doing much.
David keeping full guard, as Horton tries to pass.

Horton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but David manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Horton has David in his guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Horton is controlling David's posture.

Horton is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. David is aware though and is defending well.
Horton wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Horton keeping moving, preventing David from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

David got a little sloppy there for a moment and Horton has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, David has managed to get both his arms back between Horton's legs - danger averted.
David wants to control from the top but Horton keeps moving.
David will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Horton has David pulled in close to control his posture.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Horton is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! David rolls with it to try and escape but Horton cranks on the arm and David is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Nick Horton!
A determined Nick Horton didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
