Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Wheelock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Bowles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Frank Wheelock! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Bowles! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wheelock looks to clinch and Bowles counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Bowles decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow. Bowles fails to land the takedown. Wheelock drives through and clinches with Bowles against the cage.
Wheelock manages to break the clinch.
Bowles shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bowles in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Bowles takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Wheelock knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bowles on the ground. Bowles swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Wheelock is now in Bowles's guard. A big mistake from Bowles there, giving up the dominant position!
That's one minute gone in the round. Bowles not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Wheelock stays in close to Bowles's body and controls the position. Bowles is working an open guard so Wheelock takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Wheelock forces Bowles back against the cage and clinches. Wheelock breaks from the clinch.
Wheelock tries to clinch but fails miserably and Bowles counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Ground and pound from Bowles.
That's two minutes gone in the round. This has been an exciting period of action! Wheelock looks like he's trying to stand up.
Bowles decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Wheelock misses with a few strikes there.
Bowles pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Wheelock. Bowles looks gassed! Wheelock lands a front kick. Wheelock closes the distance and clinches. Bowles prevents a takedown attempt there.
Wheelock's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wheelock rushes Bowles and presses him up against the cage. Wheelock working Bowles over with knees to the body. Wheelock escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bowles takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
It looks like James Bowles has been cut. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Wheelock moves into range and clinches up with Bowles. Wheelock's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Wheelock instigates a clinch. Wheelock is leaning against Bowles and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. Wheelock breaks the clinch.
Wheelock looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Bowles tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Bowles shoots and misses and Wheelock counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Wheelock. Wheelock unloads a knee to the mid-section.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wheelock breaks the clinch.
Wheelock lands a big head kick that sends Bowles tumbling to the mat! Wheelock takes a step backwards and waves Bowles back to his feet - he wants the finish! Wheelock lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Bowles out cold! Bowles is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Frank Wheelock!
