Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Yorick Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Zekariays Solomon!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Brown throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Sloppy strikes from Brown. Those never looked like landing.
Brown fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Solomon looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Solomon cracks a nice hook into Brown's ribs.
Solomon is looking to chop away at Brown's legs.
A nice leg kick lands there from Solomon.
Solomon throws a nice inside leg kick.
Solomon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Solomon showed some decent athleticism there.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Brown gets full guard.
Brown being controlled here, momentarily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Brown keeping moving, preventing Solomon from controlling successfully.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Brown looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Solomon throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Yorick Brown just wasn't active enough.
Solomon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Solomon shoots in for a double leg but Brown sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Solomon moves out of range of the body kick.
Solomon shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Brown as he avoids it easily.
A good leg kick by Solomon.
Brown ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Solomon moves away.
Brown on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Yorick Brown is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Solomon takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Solomon throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Brown lands an overhand right.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A head kick misses from Solomon.
Solomon closes the distance and clinches up with Brown, looking for a takedown. Solomon pushes Brown against the cage but Brown circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Yorick Brown has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zekariays Solomon.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Brown throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Brown is looking to land body kicks.
Solomon takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Brown scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The fighters circle momentarily. Brown darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A jab lands there for Brown.
Solomon is rocked!
A head kick by Solomon misses
and Brown makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Solomon is still on wobbly legs! Can Brown finish him?
Solomon looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Solomon leaves his chin hanging out and Brown seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Solomon crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Yorick Brown!
After winning the bout, Yorick Brown thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
