Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Nestle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raje Malapitan! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nestle loads up on a big right hand but Malapitan slips the punch. Malapitan stuffs the takedown. Malapitan avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Malapitan misses with a looping right. Nestle is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Malapitan shoots in but Nestle avoids the takedown attempt easily. Nestle drives through and clinches with Malapitan against the cage.
Malapitan wants to stall.
Nestle works on Malapitan's body with a couple of short punches. Nestle tries to land knees in the clinch but Malapitan avoids the damage to the body. Malapitan stalling in the clinch.
Nestle tries a knee to the head but Malapitan blocks it.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Malapitan as Nestle tries to tie him up. Malapitan misses with a punch on the inside.
Nestle really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nestle is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Malapitan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Malapitan tries to circle away but Nestle has him pinned against the cage. Malapitan wants to get back to striking at distance but Nestle won't allow it.
Nestle prevents Malapitan from breaking the clinch. Malapitan breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Nestle scores with the left hand. Malapitan knows he should have avoided that one. Nestle fails with a takedown attempt from distance. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Nestle. That's going to take a lot out of him. Malapitan misses the jab. Nestle uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Malapitan. Malapitan circles away from the clinch attempt and Malapitan counters with a nice double leg into guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Nestle manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Malapitan manages to get himself to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Malapitan looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Nestle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Nestle wants to control from the top but Malapitan keeps moving. Nestle drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Malapitan manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nestle has Malapitan in his guard. Nestle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nestle looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Malapitan would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Malapitan is sitting in close to Nestle's body. Nestle has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Malapitan is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Malapitan is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Nestle.
