Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ana Conda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Konrad Kurze!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurze takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
An inside leg kick lands from Conda.
Kurze ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Conda moves away.
Conda misses with a low kick.
Kurze drops his hands momentarily and Conda takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Kurze throws a hook but Conda blocks it.
Conda lands with a nice body kick.
Kurze throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nice cross by Kurze.
Conda fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A big left from Kurze misses.
Conda is looking to clinch.
Conda lands with a nice body kick.
Conda cracks Kurze with a good jab.
Kurze moves out of range of the body kick from Conda.
Ana Conda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kurze misses with an uppercut. Conda saw that one coming.
Kurze connects with the punch.
Conda moves out of range as Kurze strikes.
Kurze gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Kurze is rocked!
Kurze takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Kurze is still on wobbly legs! Can Conda finish him?
Kurze looks gassed!
Conda lands a slapping body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Conda throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Conda is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Kurze flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Kurze is out cold! Conda holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:08 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ana Conda!
Ana Conda decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
