Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Damien Mays (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hoof Face (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Damien Mays! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Hoof Face! The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Summer Carpenter and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Face darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Mays knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Face on the ground. Face works his way into full mount! Face with the ground and pound from mount.
It looks like Damien Mays has been cut. Face can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mays is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Face looking to secure an arm triangle but Mays defends it well. Face thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Mays is trying desperately to improve position. Face lands with some strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. Face looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Face has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Face is working for a guillotine from mount but Mays frees his head quite easily.
Mays tries to reverse the position but Face maintains control. Face fails to move to back control. Face looking to ground and pound but Mays is blocking nicely. Mays is trying desperately to improve position. Mays tries to hold on but Face postures up. Face tries to control but Mays wriggling away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Mays is working to get back to half guard.
Mays stops Face from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better. Mays tries to hold on but Face pushes him away. Face looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Face looks gassed! Mays sneaks a leg under to get to half guard. Mays has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Face is working away from the top position though. Face is working for a kimura but Mays is defending it quite comfortably.
Mays is trying to stand.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mays is trying to get back to full guard. Mays is looking to escape. Mays might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Face prevents Mays from improving his position. Face looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Face stops Mays from getting back to his feet.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Face misses with a double jab.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Mays. Mays is staying tight to Face's torso, preventing him from escaping.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mays trying to control the position but Face is working away. Mays wants to stand but Face is controlling his arm. Face manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Face seems to be working for a kimura but Mays defends the submission attempt. Mays tries to get to full guard but Face has control of the leg. Face is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Mays defends it well. Face trying to control the action but Mays is working from the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Hoof Face dominated that round. The cut man is working on Damien Mays's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Face shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Face showed some decent athleticism there. Face is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mays doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Face. Face is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Mays is just riding it out for now. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Face gets a takedown into half guard. Face prevents Mays from improving his position. Face is looking to advance position but Mays won't allow it. Mays tries to roll over but Face keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Face sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Mays defending well though. Mays is looking for a sweep. Face is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Face is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A cross from Face lands. Face looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Mays! Face can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mays is looking to escape. Hoof Face showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Damien Mays's cut. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Face works Mays's body with a nice hook. Face shoots in but no luck this time. Damien Mays is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Face looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Face looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Mays is fending him off so far but Face persists. Nope, Mays circles away and we're back to standing. Damien Mays has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hoof Face. Face closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mays to the mat! Mays manages to get full guard. Mays utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Face in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Face advances position into side control! Mays struggling a bit here. Face tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Face has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Face tries for a kimura but Mays is defending well. Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mays is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Mays is in trouble now - Face has advanced to mount! Face swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
