1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Almaz Method! The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kimura decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Method wants to get back to full guard. Kimura perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Method is defending against the submission attempts here by Kimura.
Kimura is controlling the pace.
Kimura prevents Method from improving his position. Kimura is working for a kimura but Method is defending it quite comfortably.
Kimura is looking for a kimura but Method is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Kimura to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kimura is thwarting Method's attempts to control the position. Kimura lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Kimura sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Method defending well though. Kimura not doing much here.
Kimura has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Method wants to improve his position but Kimura is controlling well.

Kimura is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Method has managed to free his arm - good work. Kimura is figuring out what he wants to do next.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kimura takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Kimura sitting and controlling from the half guard. Method is defending against the submission attempts here by Kimura.
Kimura is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Method is trying to maintain the position but Kimura is very close to passing his half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kimura in particular looking to stall. Method tries to roll over but Kimura keeps him under control. Kimura maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Method could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Kimura has cracked it and Method is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Kimura!
