Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dalton Pressnell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Turija (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ken Turija!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pressnell looks to land a body kick but Turija moved away.

Turija gets tackled into the cage by Pressnell. Pressnell maintains the clinch.
Pressnell tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Pressnell gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Pressnell thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Pressnell not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Pressnell is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Turija reverses the position - he's now on top in Pressnell's guard.

Pressnell looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Turija is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ken Turija was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Pressnell moves in looking to clinch but Turija pushes him off.
Pressnell wants to clinch.

Pressnell moves into the clinch successfully.
Pressnell tries a knee to the head but he's missed.

Pressnell is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Pressnell lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Pressnell throws a knee to the head but misses.
Turija goes for a takedown in the clinch but Pressnell prevents it.
Dalton Pressnell has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ken Turija.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pressnell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
It looks like Turija might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ken Turija hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Pressnell closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Turija's guard.
Pressnellis looking to pass into half guard but Turija pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Turija is in guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Turija stops Pressnell from standing up.
Turija's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Let's hope that Turija has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ken Turija has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Turija shoots in looking for a takedown. Pressnell tries to sprawl out of it but Turija keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pressnell manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Pressnell shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Pressnell is breathing heavily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Poor strikes thrown by Pressnell there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Turija scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pressnell jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Turija is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Turija and Pressnell has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Pressnell wants to stand up but Turija manages to regain full guard.
Pressnell wants to stand and escape but instead Turija has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Turija sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Pressnell's guard.
Turija perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Ken Turija has got the better of the ground game so far.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ken Turija hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Turija is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Pressnell's half guard.

Ken Turija showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Pressnell shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Turija napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Pressnell goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Turija has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Pressnell but great work by Turija.
Turija content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ken Turija was stalling too much, according to the referee.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Turija enables Pressnell to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Turija manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Pressnell wants to stand but Turija has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Turija takes a little break here. Pressnell wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Ken Turija.
Turija shoots in for a takedown but Pressnell shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Turija will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
