Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Flash Cachero!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cachero looks to throw a body kick
and Ushkanov counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

Cachero shoots in and bounces Ushkanov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cachero is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Cachero has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Cachero makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Ushkanov wants to stand up but Cachero is controlling him.

Ushkanov is trying to work for a sweep but Cachero has mounted him!

Cachero is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Ushkanov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Ushkanov tries to clinch there but Cachero circles away.

Cachero drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Cachero cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Ushkanov wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
Cachero has Ushkanov flattened out and is raining down punches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cachero is punishing Ushkanov with some ground and pound.
Ushkanov trying to control but he's just got himself in more trouble.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flash Cachero dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Cachero clinches up against the cage.
A body shot lands from Ushkanov.
Cachero has Ushkanov pressed against the cage.
Cachero wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Ushkanov has him pressed against the cage.
Cachero blocks a body shot from Ushkanov.
Ushkanov jumps guard but Cachero turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Cachero has Ushkanov pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Cachero pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Ushkanov tumbling to the mat - Cachero dives into Ushkanov's guard.

Ushkanov isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cachero stacks Ushkanov on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cachero!

Cachero rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Cachero keeping hold of Ushkanov's head, controlling as best he can.
Cachero moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Ushkanov knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cachero on the ground.

Cachero has his feet on Ushkanov's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Ushkanov closes the distance and clinches up with Cachero, looking for a takedown. Ushkanov pushes Cachero against the cage but Cachero circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Cachero misses with a kick to the body.
Cachero shoots for a double leg takedown but Ushkanov sprawls well. He's pushed Cachero's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ushkanov tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Cachero closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Cachero is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Ushkanov is defending well for now.
Cachero wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Ushkanov is trying to break the clinch but Cachero is controlling him.
Cachero fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Cachero pulls guard successfully.
Ushkanov wants to get up but he can't break Cachero's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Cachero manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Ushkanov manages to get himself to full guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cachero postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cachero stays in close to Ushkanov's body and controls the position.
Cachero sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ushkanov's guard.

Cachero content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Ushkanov is trying to stand.

Cachero is working for a kimura but Ushkanov is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Flash Cachero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Ushkanov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cachero but Cachero pushes him off and we're back to square one.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ushkanov.
The fight stays on the outside here - Cachero looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Ushkanov jumps guard but Cachero turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dmitiy Ushkanov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ushkanov tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cachero just stands there and leans against the cage.
Cachero is working for takedown but Ushkanov is calmly controlling the position for now.

Cachero pushes Ushkanov off and scrambles back to his feet.
Ushkanov closes the distance looking to clinch

and Cachero counters by clinching up.
Cachero prevents Ushkanov from breaking the clinch.

Cachero jumps guard and drags Ushkanov to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Cachero lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ushkanov!

Cachero avoids the attempt from Ushkanov to control.
Ushkanov tries to control the position but Cachero now has his back.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cachero has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Ushkanov's body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Cachero is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Ushkanov has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Cachero cracks Ushkanov with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Ushkanov from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
Flash Cachero has got the better of the ground game so far.

Cachero has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Cachero just keeping the dominant position. He can't wait too long though, otherwise the referee will stand them back up.
Cachero's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Cachero has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Cachero scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Ushkanov is looking for a way out.
Ushkanov tries to roll but Cachero sticks to his back.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
