Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pavel Pinigin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Doncho Danev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Danev has chosen Crown of Thorns as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Doncho Danev enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pavel Pinigin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Doncho Danev! The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pinigin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Danev to the ground. Pinigin is now in Danev's guard. Pinigin is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Danev can do anything to dispel that myth. Danev has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Pinigin has passed into side control.
Pinigin taking a breather here. Pinigin stands up and beckons Danev to his feet. Danev will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Pinigin looks for a takedown but Danev sprawls well. Danev looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pinigin is fending him off so far but Danev persists. Nope, Pinigin circles away and we're back to standing. Pinigin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Danev paws at him with a jab and circles away. Pinigin steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Danev.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pinigin is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Pinigin closes the distance and clinches up with Danev, looking for a takedown. Pinigin pushes Danev against the cage but Danev circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Pinigin misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pavel Pinigin. That's going to take a lot out of him. Danev shoots in but no luck this time. Pinigin throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Pinigin shoots in but Danev avoids the takedown attempt easily. Pinigin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Pavel Pinigin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Pinigin gets caught flat footed, as Danev shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Pinigin is breathing heavily. Danev is looking to work some ground and pound but Pinigin has wrist control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danev drops back looking for a leg! Pinigin is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Pinigin manages to kick Danev off! Danev jumps back into Pinigin's guard. Danev must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Pinigin wants to sweep here but Danev controlling him for the moment. Danev throws a big right hand that misses. Danev throwing strikes but missing. Danev throws a big right hand that misses. Danev throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Danev throws a big elbow that misses. Danev postures up in Pinigin's guard and throws a big left but Pinigin blocks it.

Pinigin throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Danev escapes and throws Pinigin's legs to the side, diving into side control! Danev controls the position. Danev wants to control but Pinigin is keeping him busy. Pinigin dodges the ground and pound from Danev. Pinigin parries the strikes from Danev easily there. Danev is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Pinigin to escape.
The strikes coming from Danev are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Danev blocks the strikes from Pinigin.
Danev is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Pinigin is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Danev tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Danev tries for a kimura but Pinigin is defending well. Danev is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pinigin knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Danev wants to stand but Pinigin is controlling his arm. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Danev decides to stand back up. Danev steps back and let's Pinigin get back to his feet. Danev shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Pinigin as he jumps to the side. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Pinigin fails with a takedown attempt. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Doncho Danev dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Pinigin throws a sloppy head kick and Danev moves out of range easily. Danev avoids a kick to the body.
Danev misses with a takedown attempt and Pinigin counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Pinigin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

A punch lands to the side of Danev 's head but he takes it in his stride. Danev fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Pavel Pinigin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Doncho Danev.
That's one minute gone in the round. Danev throws a nice looking combination but Pinigin bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Pinigin tries for a takedown but Danev sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Pinigin tries for a takedown but Danev sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Pinigin dives in and grabs Danev's left leg, looking for a takedown. Danev pushes down on Pinigin's head and hops out. Danev misses with a takedown and Pinigin counters with a single leg into guard. Danev didn't expect that. Danev really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pinigin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danev keeping moving, preventing Pinigin from controlling successfully. Danev looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Pinigin puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Pinigin seems to be working for a kimura but Danev defends the submission attempt. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Danev tries to get to full guard but Pinigin has control of the leg. Danev trying to hold on to Pinigin's head to control him but Pinigin postures up.
Pinigin is working for a kimura but Danev is defending it quite comfortably.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Pinigin is looking to advance position but Danev won't allow it. Danev actively working from the bottom here. Danev looking for submissions off his back. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pinigin connects with a nice short shot to Danev's temple. Danev is trying to stand back up but Pinigin is controlling him
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pinigin moves into full mount! Danev won't be happy about that! Pinigin punishing his opponent with strikes. Danev is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position. Danev keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Pinigin is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Danev to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Danev shrugs it off. Danev tries to reverse the position but Pinigin maintains control. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Danev is just holding on here. Pinigin manages to take his back.
Danev wants to control his opponent's hands but Pinigin gets his hands free. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Danev fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Pinigin avoids it really well and circles away. Pinigin pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's going to take a lot out of Doncho Danev. Danev takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Pinigin shoots for a double leg takedown but Danev sprawls well. He's pushed Pinigin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Danev moves forwards but Pinigin connects with a nice, crisp jab. Pinigin scores with a hook to the body. Danev takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
That's one minute gone in the round. Danev pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Pinigin tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Pinigin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Danev defends it nicely. Pinigin scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Pinigin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Danev keeps working. Danev wants to get back to his feet. Danev pushes Pinigin off but Pinigin dives into side control.
Pinigin is looking to take a break and control but Danev is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Danev tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Pinigin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Danev is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Doncho Danev has got the better of the ground game so far. Pinigin cracks Danev with an elbow. That is naaassty. Danev tries to get back to half guard but can't. Danev is not content to let Pinigin control the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Danev is trying to improve his position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Pinigin decides to take the fight back to the feet. Danev shoots in looking for a takedown. Pinigin tries to sprawl out of it but Danev keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Pinigin manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Pinigin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Danev swivels and escapes. Danev looking to score a takedown here. Pinigin is defending well but Danev drives through and ends up in Pinigin's guard. Danev trying to control the position from guard on top but Pinigin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Pinigin is trying to keep Danev in close.
Pinigin thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Pinigin keeping full guard, as Danev tries to pass. Pinigin lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Danev! Danev is looking to improve his position but Pinigin isn't that keen on the idea. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Danev sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Pavel Pinigin. I think Pinigin has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
