The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bishop lands a right hook to the body.

Bishop darts in and clinches Bowen up against the cage.
Bowen dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
The referee calls for Bishop to work.
Bishop dodges an elbow strike from Bowen.

Bishop's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bishop throws a series of punches but Bowen moves out of range.
No joy there for Bishop, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bishop throws a right and a left that Bowen avoids nicely.
Bowen tries to clinch up
and Bishop counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bishop throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bowen walks into a stiff left hand from Bishop.

It looks like Makebono Bowen has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bowen throws a sloppy head kick and Bishop moves out of range easily.

Bishop moves into the clinch.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Bowen is trying to break free.
Bowen has a couple of punches blocked by Bishop.

Bishop stalls.
Bowen is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Bishop's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Bowen throws a nice looking combination but Bishop bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Bishop tries to keep at a distance but Bowen has taken the fight into the clinch.

Bishop pulls guard successfully.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Bishop wants to get back to his feet but Bowen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bishop manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bowen manages to get himself to full guard.
Bishop pushes down on Bowen's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Bowen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bishop. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bowen wants to get back to his feet.

Bishop is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bowen wants to stand back up but Bishop manages to pass into side control.
Bishop in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Bowen stops Bishop from passing to mount.
Bishop prevents Bowen from escaping the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bowen can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bishop connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Bowen some visible discomfort.
Bishop advances nicely into full mount.

Bishop is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bowen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Makebono Bowen's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
