Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shinji Kagawa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ikkaku Madarame (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinji Kagawa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ikkaku Madarame! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Excellent takedown into side control there by Madarame. Kagawa is trying to control Madarame's posture but Madarame avoids it. Madarame is staying tight to Kagawa's torso, preventing him from escaping. Madarame decides to stand up, so the ref orders Kagawa to his feet. Kagawa looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Madarame is fending him off so far but Kagawa persists. Nope, Madarame circles away and we're back to standing. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kagawa. Kagawa throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Madarame's waist but Madarame gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kagawa off to one side. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shinji Kagawa. That's going to take a lot out of him. Madarame scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Shinji Kagawa has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Madarame connects with a high kick. Kagawa gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Madarame to score an easy takedown into full guard. Madarame preventing the sweep. Madarame wants to control from the top but Kagawa keeps moving. Kagawa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Madarame content to stall in guard here. Madarame tries to free his leg and advance position but Kagawa is retaining full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ikkaku Madarame wasn't active enough on the ground. Kagawa shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Madarame but Madarame pushes him off and we're back to square one. Madarame scores a takedown into full mount! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Madarame misses with a head shot. Madarame tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kagawa could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Kagawa is trying to escape the mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Madarame tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Kagawa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Kagawa wants to hold on but Madarame pushes him away. Kagawa working to try and regain half guard.
Madarame can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Kagawa is looking to escape. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Madarame breaks from Kagawa's wrist control and lands an elbow. Kagawa is desperately trying to improve his position but Madarame has a good base and remains in mount. Madarame sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Kagawa really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Madarame landing punches. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ikkaku Madarame dominated that round. The cut man is working on Shinji Kagawa's cut. That's time! Back to the action!
Madarame throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Kagawa shoots for a double leg takedown but Madarame sprawls well. He's pushed Kagawa's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Madarame fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Kagawa sprawls well initially but Madarame persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Madarame stops Kagawa from getting back to his feet.
Madarame wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kagawa keeps working. Madarame is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Kagawa is trying to escape the mount.

That's one minute gone in the round. Kagawa really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Kagawa is working hard here to advance position. Kagawa gets back to half guard. Kagawa manages to escape and get back to his feet! Madarame fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Kagawa to the ground. Madarame is now in Kagawa's guard. Kagawa has momentary wrist control but Madarame slips an elbow through the middle.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kagawa is looking to stand up but Madarame isn't so interested in that idea. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Kagawa is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Kagawa keeping full guard, as Madarame tries to pass. Madarame postures up and lands a big shot to Kagawa's brow. This has been an exciting period of action! Madarame trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Madarame trying to control but Kagawa is working from the bottom. Madarame is looking to stand up but Kagawa won't let him.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kagawa looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Madarame wants to control from the top but Kagawa keeps moving. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Kagawa shoots in and gets a takedown into Madarame's guard. Kagawa sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Madarame's guard. Kagawa is working for a submission of some sort.
Madarame has one foot on Kagawa's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kagawa shoots in for a double leg but Madarame sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Madarame shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Kagawa's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Madarame wanted to stand there but Kagawa had control of the position. Kagawa wants to sweep but no luck. Madarame must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Madarame missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Madarame controls from within his opponent's guard. Madarame's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ikkaku Madarame showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on Shinji Kagawa's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Madarame looking for a guillotine from mount but Kagawa is having none of it. Madarame avoids the attempt from Kagawa to control.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kagawa tries to get to full guard but Madarame has control of the leg. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Madarame lands a nice short elbow. Kagawa is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Madarame jumps into side control! Kagawa wants to control but Madarame postures up. Madarame prevents Kagawa from escaping the position. Madarame is trying to get an arm triangle but Kagawa is defending well.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Madarame wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kagawa keeps working. Madarame working the head and body with strikes. Kagawa gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Madarame is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Kagawa wants to control but Madarame is keeping busy.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Madarame drops an elbow to the side of Kagawa's head. Madarame not landing any meaningful shots this time. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kagawa is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Madarame scores with a couple of nice shots. Madarame keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Madarame trying to control from half guard but Kagawa is working away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Madarame has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
And that's the end of the fight! Ikkaku Madarame comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Madarame has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
