Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Big Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Greatest Ever!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joe misses with a takedown

and Ever counters with a takedown into side control.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Ever tries to score with some ground and pound. Joe controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Joe might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Ever in side control lands a decent elbow.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ever working the ground and pound.
Ever connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Joe some visible discomfort.

Ever stands up.
Ever fails with an attempt to clinch.

Ever fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Joe sprawls well initially but Ever persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ever looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Joe trying to hold on to Ever's head to control him but Ever postures up.
Ever throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Ever tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Ever lands a nice short elbow.

Ever stands up from half guard.
Ever throws out a leg kick but Joe moves out of range and Ever only half commits.

Ever has Joe up against the cage in a clinch.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Joe is trying to break free.
Joe stalls.
Ever changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Joe fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Ever darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ever working over Joe with some ground and pound. Joe looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Ever gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Ever tries to clinch but Joe moves out of range.

Ever is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Joe's half guard.
Ever thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Joe's head.

Joe avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ever.
Joe could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Ever lands with a punch from half guard.
It looks like Ever is going to stand back up.
Joe wants to control but Ever is keeping busy.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Ever connects with a nice short shot to Joe's temple.

Joe pushes Ever off and gets back to his feet.
Joe is breathing heavily.
Joe ducks right into an uppercut from Ever.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Ever changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Joe looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Joe sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Joe manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Ever wants to clinch up but Joe keeps it at a distance.
Joe blocks a low kick nicely.
Ever throws a leg kick but Joe moved away.
Ever misses with a low kick.

Ever shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Ever with good strikes from the mount here!
Ever working the ground and pound effectively.
Ever cracks Joe with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Joe takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greatest Ever dominated that round.

Ever tries to clinch but Joe is having none of it.
Joe looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Joe closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Ever quickly recovers to half guard.
Joe seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ever does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Ever pushes Joe off looking to stand but Joe dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Joe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ever can do anything to dispel that myth.

Joe is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Ever is just riding it out for now. Joe eventually gives up the hold.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ever is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Joe stops Ever from getting back to his feet.
Ever trying to get back to full guard but Joe takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
Ever really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Joe looking to control but Ever is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Joe misses with a head shot.
Joe tries to control but Ever wriggling away.

Joe goes for an armbar but Ever turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Ever.
Ever throws an elbow that misses. Joe uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ever's guard. Nice move by Joe!
Ever really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Joe. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Joe drops back looking for a leg! Ever is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ever manages to kick Joe off! Joe jumps back into Ever's guard.

Ever looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Ever bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Joe's guard.

Ever decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Joe, up you get!

Ever closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Joe is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Ever has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Joe works to full guard.
Ever postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ever postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ever stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Joe swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ever wants to control from the top but Joe keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Greatest Ever will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Joe looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Joe fails to land the takedown.
Ever throws a looping overhand right but Joe ducks down to avoid it.
Ever throws a front kick aimed at Joe's knee but Joe avoids it well.
Ever throws a low kick but Joe moves out of range easily.
Ever tries to bum rush Joe with a series of wild strikes but Joe uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Ever has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ever dives in and scores a takedown into Joe's guard.
Joe manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Ever is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Ever is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Joe is staying active.
Poor strikes thrown by Joe there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Greatest Ever has got the better of the ground game so far.

Ever tries to reverse the position but Joe maintains control.

Joe is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!
Joe doesn't manage to clinch there - Ever circles away.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Good work by Joe as he checks the leg kick.

Ever tries to stand but Joe is controlling from the bottom.

Joe wants to stand up but Ever is controlling him.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Ever's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Ever content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Ever scoring with some ground and pound.
Ever is looking to stand up but Joe won't let him.
Joe is looking to stand up but Ever isn't so interested in that idea.
Ever keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Joe's head.

Ever must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Joe has momentary wrist control but Ever slips an elbow through the middle.
Greatest Ever is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Ever engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Big Joe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Greatest Ever.

Greatest Ever comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ever has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Greatest Ever wins by unanimous decision!

After the fight, Greatest Ever was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
